Making for Change is back!

Making for Change in Aston and Newtown July 24th – July 29th 2017

Making for Change is back and we’re going to be working within Birmingham’s Aston and Newtown with 16- 19 year olds. We’ll be exploring  the  issues that matter to them and helping them develop  their ideas into making based craftivism campaigns.

We will be running craftivist taster sessions in schools and community groups led by previous Making For Change participants Mahnaz and Sarah.

During the taster sessions you’ll be able to sign-up to be part of our group of 15 young people who will work together at Grosvenor Road Studios in Birchfield for a week, between 24th and 28th July 2017. We’ll be showing work from the week at a celebration event in the studio’s garden on Saturday 29th July.

We have a great line up of artists and support workers in place including Sarah Corbett who has recently been talking about craftivism on Woman’s Hour (listen to here). Our fantastic apprentice from last year – Sarah Lopez will once again be working with us.

And, at the end of the summer will be running a holiday camp for younger children led by participants of this year’s programme.

So lots to look out for…  If you are from Aston and Newtown and are interested in taking part please visit the TAKE PART and follow the instructions.
